Kirsty Allsop Fabric Patchwork Quilt & Cushion

So i'm attempting to make a quilt and matching cushion, this is my design so far:

I've chosen to go with Kirsty Allsops Fabrics in a beautiful duck egg blue, but i'm not sure how well it's going to work for this project as it's quite a mature fabric. I'll see how this one turns out, and if not i'll try again with a more colourful fabric. I'm also using an Accuquilt GO! die to cut out my shapes to make life easier.

This is going to be the basis for my quilt

I might try and use the triangular pieces as a border for my quilt and cushion, or just use it for another project.. but I like the way they're coming together

So I've finally got round to doing a bit more on the matching cushion... I've sewn all the pieces together with a white strip in the middle and used a white border all the way round and turned the cushion into an oxford pillowcase.

I'm also going to embroider a saying or phrase into the white strip in the middle once I decide on the perfect words.

Then i'll move onto completing the matching quilt or throw...
